Mid-Week inspiration...

So while I was looking up images for Monday's blog post, I got a bit caught up in the world of internet quotes. I don't know if it was just because I was feeling inspired because I'd spent most of the weekend writing, or if I was just happy because the sun was shining for the first time in weeks, but I couldn't help thinking as I looked through the images, 'YES! THIS IS IT! THIS SPEAKS TO ME! THIS QUOTE DESCRIBES EXACTLY HOW I'M FEELING RIGHT NOW! AND THIS ONE! AND THIS ONE! AND THAT ONE TOO!

So I thought that I'd share my absolute favourite ones with you, as a bit of a mid-week inspiration for you to keep writing :). I am starting to find that the more I write, I genuinely believe what these guys are saying - especially the quote by Mark Haddon. I didn't choose to be a writer. I simply am one. And I wouldn't change it for the world.

Happy Wednesday!

What are your favourite writing quotes? Who/what inspires you to keep writing, even when you feel like giving up?

  1. I was smiling while reading these. I've always been a writer too. People ask when I started, and I just look at them and wonder what planet they come from.

    1. Thanks, Crystal! I'm glad they made you smile :), they made me smile too! Haha! I always wonder what 'normal' people must think about if they're not writers...I just can't imagine a life NOT constantly making up stories in my head!

  2. I love that Mark Haddon quote! So true! And I've been thinking along the lines of the GRRM quote at the beginning. I've got a book release coming up, and I don't know if anyone would even buy it, but I'm writing it anyway.

Because not writing makes me anxious.

    1. I love that quote - I might print it out and stick it on the wall to keep me going whenever I feel like giving up. Go you!! I'm in the same boat :). I hate how not writing makes me so anxious, but equally, I wouldn't change it for the world :)

  4. Thank you so much for these great quotes. I haven't been a very good girl. I'm hiding from my writing again, but these quotes made me feel guilty, so I now have to write something today:)

  5. Awesome quotes. :-D I like the idea of someone "coming out" as a writer. :-)

  6. The one about writing and "coming out" makes me feel more normal. I never actually said, "I'm going to be a writer when I grow up." I thought about it, but like art or singing, it's something I felt like you either COULD do or couldn't. It calls you. I started writing poetry as a teen but still never thought I could write a book.

  7. Wonderful selection of quotes. It's so true that a writer never has a vacation - nor does she want one from writing or thinking about writing.
